Glock 43 Gen 4 Review - Tyrant Designs Glock 43 +3 Mag (mag) Extended and Gen4 & Gen5 Gen5 Glock Extended Magazine Release Button: More rounds for Concealed Carry (CCW) and faster reloads!

By Jeff Gurwitch Dec 12, 2018 (DRO makes its Tyrant Designs product debut with the Hand Stop HALO AR15, the perfect grip accessory. Especially for those looking for something more ergonomic and unobtrusive, Tyrant Designs now has a few As well as the tactical AR (AR-15) offerings, I recently tested two Tyrant Designs products designed specifically for the Glock last month: a pistol, magazine extension and magazine release for the Glock 43 (G43). The extended magazine release fits both Gen 4 and 5, Glock 17 to 39 frames, HALO handstop I found both are high quality and work well Well actually I like the extended magazine release a lot it's Found a permanent home in my main EDC: Gen5 G19 (Glock 19) Tyrant Designs Gen4 and Gen5 Glock Extended Magazine Release (EMR) machined from machined aluminum Tyrant Designs Gen4 and Gen5 Glock Extended Magazine Release (EMR) with bottom It features a very aggressive "chevron pattern" and comes in 5 colors. As a traditionalist, I chose black for the experiment. For trouble-free installation and functionality, I can honestly say that it works great! The magazine ejects smoothly when I do. I have found other brands of extended magazines having issues with the magazine appearing to cut and not ejecting smoothly. This is not a problem with the Tyrant Designs EMR. A Tyrant Designs EMR installed on a Gen 5 G19 (right) and The OEM Magazine release of the Gen4 G19 (left) gives the EMR a more positive texture, which makes the buttons easier to press. It describes it as extended, but actually compares it to a factory button. I didn't notice much of a difference when it came to the extra length extending from the grip frame. I probably measured it a bit longer with calipers. But from the feel, it doesn't seem to be longer than the factory key. It's actually not that bad. I'll tell you later. But where it really shines is the chevron pattern on the surface. The face has three deep chevrons. While it feels more positive than an OEM magazine release, competitive shooters looking for a truly extended magazine release may find the TD EMR positively lacking. Perfect for pistol and tactical applications. Because there is one concern, having an extra magazine on your pistol works well with a concealed holster. Note the deep chevron shape on the front of the EMR's close-up keys. Aggressive patterns help you find and press with your thumb. Aggressive, but without any sharp edges. Because of how close the pistol is to the body, with most concealed carry holsters, especially concealed carry belt (IWB) holsters, there is the potential for the magazine to be ejected from an accidental button push through the holster tension or body tension. I had no issues while mounting the Blade-Tech IWB holster and the G-Code INCOG IWB holster respectively on my Tyrant Designs EMR G19. In a humid environment great for sweaty hands and while wearing gloves we think the Tyrant Designs EMR is a great choice. Especially for everyday carry and tactical setups, it should be noted that Tyrant Designs also makes EMRs for the Glock 43, G43 +3 Magazine Extension. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of carrying a subcompact in the first place? Of course, the G43 (Glock 43) concealed carry is more likely to print an extended magazine. I know you have weapons, but when it comes to extended magazines and concealment, you shouldn't think so. It's also good for concealment, but the smaller magazines and reduced capacities of compact and subcompact pistols provide a very limited ammo supply in a real firefight. Not good, so I carry an extended or sized spare magazine. Always full for reloading on the go. For my EDC G19, I use a standard 15 round magazine. My spare is OEM +2 Tyrant Designs +3 Extender magazines. Reduce both width and weight. It has also proven to be very reliable. Also, you won't see the magazine extension protruding from the pistol stock when using the two-handed grip. The Tyrant Designs +3 G43 magazine extension is stable and looks great. Even better is the way the Tyrant Designs Glock 43 +3 magazine extension holds the magazine well to the bottom of the magazine. Unlike other extensions, most of the slide-in mounts require some tools to tighten some sort of screw to hold them in place. Tyrant Designs baseplates are held in place by spring-loaded plungers, requiring no special tools to press in. . Press the screwdriver or plunger on the side of the blade and then rock the magazine into place. The extension is firmly fixed to the magazine body with no play. So for EDC, having 3 extra rounds in a loaded magazine is a good thing. After all, we can never have too much ammunition in the face of a threat. So, if you own a G43, I highly recommend buying the TD extensions. You can carry one Glock 43 +3 Mag on the , or attach an extra magazine to your car. Or near the bed this way you can add more if: The need arises Check out the small plunger with a spring behind the magazine body. It does a great job of keeping extensions in place. At the same time, handling is very easy when installing or removing extensions from the magazine body. All in all, everything I've seen so far from Tyrant Designs has proven well-made, affordable, and good-looking. As most gun owners know, looks matter! I asked them if they had plus 5 (+5) round magazine extensions in the works for the G19 and G17 magazines and they said they were working. If it turns out to be the same as the G43 extensions, I have no doubts that not only does it work perfectly, but it works flawlessly. But it also looks great.
